Bhopal: London-based Opus Publication is set to publish a book ‘Tendlukar Opus’ on master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Bhopal man Ashish Ojha’s sketch has been selected for publication in the book.
The book that weighs around 30kg is likely to be priced at Rs 32.5 lakh. A total of 13 sketches have been selected from 400 entries from across the world for the book. Tendulkar Opus – that runs into 750 pages – has various interviews, features and photo shoots of the cricketer. The best part about the selection of his sketch for the book for Ojha is that Sachin himself has approved the sketches for the book that will have golden edges.
The publication house claims that almost fifty per cent of the content in the book will be unread for the readers. A competition: Tendulkar Fans’ Art Contest was held to select sketches for the book where sketches depicting the personality of Sachin Tendulkar were invited.
Ashish, who is a scale three trainee with State Bank of India, said he read about the contest on the social networking site Facebook in May and sent his entry online after working on it for three to four hours. Ojha further said he has never had a formal training in sketching and pursues sketching as his hobby.
About the sketch, Ojha said he has depicted the body language and facial expressions of Tendulkar when he is on the fields. The sketch illustrates the dedication, seriousness and focus that are evident in Sachin’s game, he added. He also said that he has presented sketches of Amitabh Bachchan and Amir Khan to the Bollywood stars.

The book will have the DNA map of Sachin. The book will also feature 100 to 1500 photographs selected from around 30 lakh photos.
The book is likely to be released by the end of this year and advance booking for ‘Tendulkar Opus’ can be done online.
