Opus Media Group met with Sachin Tendulkar to pick the winner for the Tendulkar Opus Fan Art competition which was held exclusively on the 4.4 million Tendulkar Opus facebook page. The competition winners would get an opportunity to feature their art work in the Official Sachin Tendulkar Opus which will be released later this year.
The competition attracted more than 400 entries out of which 13 were shortlisted by the Tendulkar Opus editorial team. Sachin Tendulkar picked "The God of Cricket" as the winner. "The God of Cricket" was created by Vaibhav Shivaji Jagtap, a graphic designer & an amateur photographer from Mumbai. Vaibhav created a typography image of Sachin Tendulkar with all his ODI & Test records.
When contacted by Tendulkar Opus team, Vaibhav was delighted to be picked as the winner by Tendulkar himself. Vaibhav said, "My inspiration to design this typographic portrait came from my ardent habit of observing the creative world around us and surfing the internet. As a passion for graphic design, i am habituated to adding my thoughts to the perspective' to create a thoughtful designs.
I am just another big fan of Sir Sachin Tendulkar, hence I put up my ideas and created the typographic portrait with him in it. The portrait includes Sir Sachin Tendulkar holding a typography which contains world records in ODI and Test Cricket held by him."

The winning entry will be announced during the first day of the Edgbaston Test match on Wednesday 10, August 2011.
The meeting went on to cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from Sachin¹s family background and the influence it had on his career, through to his test debut and how he was perceived by his peers and fans at that time.
The result was an extremely insightful and thought provoking interview, conducted in a calm and focused fashion - just like the 'Little Master' himself.
